Thousands of devotees from all over the country and abroad came to see the divine and grand Lathmar Holi. Here are some of the best pictures of Holi in Braj
In Barsana, Lattmar Holi is celebrated on the Navami of Shukla Paksha of Falgun month. It is believed that the sticks of Barsana women, whose head touches them, is considered lucky.
Laddu Holi was played at Barsana a day before Lathmar Holi. After receiving the invitation of Holi from Barsana, on Tuesday, the Huriyars of Nandgaon prepared for the Holi of Barsana overnight.
Devotees started pouring in for the darshan at the temple on Wednesday. Huriyare of Nandgaon, considered as Sakha of Kanha, gathered at Nandabhavan on Wednesday morning. In the afternoon, Lord Krishna reached Pilipokhar in Harsiyar Barsana, Nandgaon with a flag of the form. He was given a grand welcome by the people of Goswami community of Barsana here.
It is here that the Huriyars, after tasting the taste of cannabis and frosting, tied a safa on their ends and then left for the Shreeji temple. While coming out of the streets of Barsana, the Huriyars were fiercely painted and colored.
After the singing of the society in the temple, the Hurriyans also lashed out at the Rangiri Chowk in the afternoon when the Hurriyars started singing the rashias by singing rasiya.
The beating of the sticks is also so fast that in order to bear it, the Hurriyars have to sit on their knees and defend themselves with their shield.
The lanes of Shreeji temple to Barsana were drenched with colors. Barsana had the shield in his hands to escape the hurriars' sticks. Dhoti, Bagbandi, Pitambari-equipped Huriyare rang Dhal came on foot as soon as Rang Gulal blew up.
Seeing this unique Holi, the devotees who came from outside got drenched in the colors of Holi and were absorbed in the devotion of Lord Shri Radhakrishna.
